Events

Story-swaps are a brilliant way to revel in your voice and the voices of your community, so bring your friends and come ready to make more! Each event will have a theme for the evening, and creative interpretation of the theme is heartily encouraged. Anyone can put their name in the hat for a chance to tell a true, five-minute story from their own life. Our host will randomly choose ten names from the hat, and then we'll sit back and listen! Story-swaps are every third Thursday of the month.

Coming up!

* Unafraid and Amazed *

The theme for the night, chosen by Erica Lann-Clark, our Featured Teller, is "Unafraid and Amazed." She gave us a hint that her story involves a lion--what's your amazing story about being unafraid? COME JOIN US and TELL!

Come at 7 to put your name in the hat for a chance at a five minute tell of your own. Stories begin at 7:30. There are always moments of clarity and insight...

Come just to listen or throw your name in the hat!

Lucid Story-Swaps are just what they sound like – a space to gather and hear each other! Similar to an open-mic, everyone is invited to participate by listening or putting their name in the hat for a chance to tell a true, five-minute story based on our evening's theme. Our host will pull six names out of the hat (depending on how many are in there to begin with), we'll celebrate each one with rowdy applause, and we'll close out the evening with a slightly longer tale from a featured local performer. We'll offer these events every third Thursday of the month. The Moth, one of our great influences, has some excellent storytelling tips here: http://themoth.org/tell-a-story/storytelling-tips.
